Colbha Consulting was established in 2009 by Mary Walsh, a lawyer with a wide range of experience in the energy sector.
Mary graduated with a degree in Law and French from Trinity College Dublin and the Université Panthéon-Assas, Paris, going on to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2002(*). She worked for international law firm White & Case LLP for seven years advising clients on all aspects of developing and financing power projects across the world. She has advised charities, SMEs, international corporations, banks and multilateral financial institutions.
Mary has also worked for FTSE 100 company BG Group as Senior Counsel, advising the company on its operations in the Mediterranean Basin and Africa.
Since 2007, Mary has worked exclusively in the renewable energy and low carbon sectors, advising on the development and financing of renewable power projects. She has worked closely with project developers on wind, solar and biofuel projects, has advised on CDM accreditation and carbon trading, and provided general corporate support for companies moving into this market.
Outside her professional life, Mary is one of the British Council’s Climate Advocates for 2009/10 and is actively involved with a variety of climate change projects.
